As part of Getting Primal's Paleo-friendly travel snacks feature, WB Kitchen's products were reviewed by Getting Primal. For the actual feature where the creators were interviewed to find out more about WB Kitchen's Paleo-friendly products, visit this link.

We had the opportunity to taste test WB Kitchen's Paleo-friendly cookies and nut bars. Prior to this review, I was just getting over a stomach bug so I was glad to have the three kids ready and raring to help out with the tasting. And it doesn't come as a surprise that our general consensus was that we found WB Kitchen's products to be scrumptious and satisfying. In terms of favourites and preferences, we differed in opinion.

My personal favourite were the Maple Pecan cookies. They were just sweet enough for me and yes, pecans are my favourite type of nuts. WB Kitchen's Maple Pecan cookies reminded me of the taste of marzipan with a welcome pecan twist.

Kiarra loved all of it - anyone who knows her knows she's a treat monster. She tried to steal the rest of the Coconut Shortbread cookies, and I had to remind her to leave room in her belly for more tastings. She loved every single flavour...every single one. Admittedly, the Coconut Shortbread cookies were not favourites of mine and the only reason being I am not a fan of vanilla. I used to love vanilla pre-Paleo but after Paleo, it's almost like my taste buds have become more sensitive to the taste - I tend to find the flavour overwhelming. In most of the Paleo treats I have made, I have always decreased the amount of vanilla syrup needed for my own taste. If you are a fan of vanilla, however, these cookies are just the ticket.

The Brownie cookies were a hit - as to be expected! Gooey and fudgy, we loved their rich dark chocolate flavour. I love how you just don't taste the sugar or the sweet-ness as you would with typical cookies, the chocolate flavour wallops you with a punch!

The Cinnamon Raisin cookies were gobbled up quite happily by Kiarra and Seamus. I was never a fan of cinnamon raisin cookies but I did not mind these ones. Ronan protested he did not like them (he's a big fan of cinnamon so I was surprised) but the following day, he found some left-over and ate them all up...on Kiarra who was looking forward to having them the following day. It lead to a tantrum of epic proportions. He admitted the next day that he loved the taste and couldn't figure out why he didn't the day before. It turns out he wasn't drinking water each time he would taste the products. It inevitably lead to an intermingling of flavours in his palate which in the end didn't let him experience the true taste of these cookies (they were the last ones we tasted). Ah, well, lesson learned for him much to Kiarra's detriment.

The Honey Nut bar was sweet and Seamus and Kiarra loved it. Ronan found it a bit too sweet for his taste. It reminded me of nut brittle...gooey, chewy, sweet, sticky, and yummy.

The Chocolate Chocolate Chip bar was loved by all. It was chocolate-y with that great dark chocolate taste the brownie cookies also had. It was just sweet enough to satisfy our taste buds and it had the right amount of vanilla in my opinion. As I mentioned, I am not a fan of vanilla (my own preference) and the addition of vanilla in this case was divine. I loved this nut bar and yes I snuck more than a few bites in when my other taste testers weren't paying attention.

All in all, my little assistants and I loved WB Kitchen's snack products and Ronan and I had our own personal favourites - except for Kiarra and Seamus who did not discriminate among them. Perfect for travelling, these snacks will come in handy on our next camping/RVing trip!
